Snowblower, eh? Is it really that bad? Might have to put one up in front of the Unimog.

Eventually I'm planning on doing contracting; would you say that getting MS enterprise certifications would be very beneficial in getting work?

Commute times are easy in Moncton. You will find the salaries lower than the big Canadian metro areas like Vancouver, but the cost of living is also soooo much lower.

The weather is, well, not as mild as Vancouver. :-) Buy yourself a nice Honda snowblower and all will be fine. The HS928TCD is a thing of beauty: http://www.honda.ca/PowerEng/Snowblowers/HS928/HS928TCD.htm?Year=2007.

We're planning on moving to the Moncton area next year and I'm glad to see that there are software dev opportunities, let alone .NET work. I've noticed www.CareerBeacon.com has a reasonable amount of software dev work advertised in the area.

We're thinking of buying an acreage outside of town, is there much of a commute in the Moncton area? We live in Vancouver and are sick and tired of the pace and cost of living (houses) here. Half a million dollars for an average house. At least we've got a decent sized lot.

How are Moncton salaries in the IT area in comparison with the rest of the country? The weather, is it very stormy?
